Zhaolu Expressway

Build Intelligent Power Distribution Management for Smart Expressways

Highway Transportation

Case Details

Stretching a total length of 73 kilometers, Zhaolu Expressway was fully open to traffic in 2022. It shortens the travel time between Luzhou in Sichuan Province and Zhaotong in Yunnan Province from 5 hours to 3 hours. The project contains 47 bridges and 24 tunnels across the whole route with a bridge-tunnel ratio of 76%, earning its reputation as a sky-high expressway.

Case Highlights

Expressway tunnels feature distinctive operating environments and complicated power distribution scenarios. Power supply, communication, signal indication, lighting and ventilation systems are critical to safe operation. Unresolved electrical faults are highly likely to escalate into severe safety incidents without timely troubleshooting.

The construction of smart expressways paired with digital power distribution systems elevates overall operation and maintenance efficiency and enables refined energy efficiency management.

Intelligent systems analyze power consumption duration, load patterns and temperature data to execute real-time on-off control over terminal lighting, air conditioning and other loads for zero power waste. Dust sensors interlock with tunnel ventilation fans to realize dynamic fan regulation and cut redundant energy consumption.
